Transcript	J. MITCHELL 35 FE¥TON STREET COATBRIDGE LANARKSHIRE SCOTLAND Dear Mr. Homer, I am writing to you in answer to your enquiry in the Internationale Artist. I have a painting by 'Smith' but I'm not sure if it is the work of the artist you refer to. The composition is as follows: It is a river scene with two figures fishing from a boat at centre. There is a fringe of trees on the right bank and also on the left with a footpath. In the background are a number of buildings with a bridge over the river on the right and a church and tower on the left. The measurements are: ...hardboard. I have traced the signature and enclose it here. The only possible chance that the work could be by the artist in question is that your date of her birth could be out a little.
