June 6, 1973 Dear Mr. Rhoades: You may recall that I telephoned you on the eve of your operation in January. I understood that it would take you some time to recover, and I hope that this letter finds you well. As I told your secretary at that time, I am a Guggenheim Fellow for 1972-73, doing research on Alfred Stieglitz and Avant-garde Painting in America. Naturally I am interested in the work of Katherine Rhoades and her connection to the Stieglitz group. I would be delighted to hear from you on the subject. Possibly we could get together in New York. I am particularly interested in seeing some of her paintings, since they are not easy to find. I will look forward to hearing from you. Many thanks. Sincerely, William I. Homer Chairman
