Whistler as the 'Supreme Master' of line and co1or, a review of the above book from Literary Digest 28: 9-10, Jan. 2, 1904. Chicago Art Institute catalog of the Arthur Jerome Eddy Collection of painting and sculpture exhibited Dec. 22, 1931 -Jan. 17, 1932. We have no special collection of his personal papers, and I find no reference to anyone in Chicago who does. If you haven't a1rea~ written to the Archives of American Art in Washington, I would suggest you do so, since they have a large collection of letters and papers by and about artists.
