Mr.William Innes Homer, University of Delaware Dear Mr.Homer It is a long time since I heard from you and I hope you are well.I have written to you several times as to whether the Delaware Museum would like to have some of my paintings,if so, would you collect them? I am now one hundred and seven months old,and since I was awarded that medal of honor my paintings have gone up in value. The Salmagundi Club have made quite a good thing selling my small paintings at auction, but unfortunately people these days have no room for large pictures. I may donate some of them before I go to Lyme for the Summer to some New museums in this neighborhood or the Historical Society in Lyme. In any case please let me hear from you. Sincerely yours, Alphaeus P.Cole. P.S.Please excuse my bad typing. I am forgetting how to type, and also how to spell, and my sight is going a bit. My glasses cannot be made stronger.
