August 28, 1978 William I .Homer University of Delaware Dear Mr. Homer: I delayed answering your letter of July 3, due to a very tight business schedule, and then the weather this summer was not condusive to over exeration, the high humidity was so excessive that one had to take care-heal otherwise. I have been in constant touch with Mr. Cole (newspaper clipping enclosed) and find him at 102 in very good spirits. Spoke to him to-day and he will be back in New York City around Sept. 20th at which time I intend to pay him a visit. He tell me of a Eugene Higgins painting which is available, have not seen it, but have in my collection drawings watercolors and a few oils, also watercolors Mr. Cole, Will mail under seperate cover catalogues of exhibitions held at the Gallery in Bridgehampton,, also mailed you some time ago a book published by the Leonard Clayton Gallery, New York City in 1933 on the Complete Etching of Childe Hassam, have you received I did so enjoy my visit to Delaware and the opening of the Hayley Lever exhibition at the Delaware Art Museum, Mr, Jtme and the Gallery staff are to be complimented on presaiting the works of this artist in such an impressive manner. Time was to short to really enjoy and absorb. You are cordially invited td come visit the Gallery at Bridgehampton, as I am !bi and Out a lot a phone call would be appreciated. Sincerely,
