January 24, 1977 Mrs. F. S. Straus 7 W. Lyon Farm Road Greenwich, Connecticut 06830 Dear Mrs. Straus: I am enclosing a rather poor Xerox copy of a reproduction of Stieglitz's portrait of his father, a print of which you own. Apparently it won a silver medal in the Photographic Times portrait competition, as announced in their January 1895 issue. This notice also helps to date your picture, which I thought would be of interest to you. Thank you again for all your help. I hope we can get together In New York one of these days for me to rephotograph two of your framed pictures. I will send Xeroxes of them under separate cover. With best regards, Sincerely, William I.
