JOHN H. RHOADES 55 BROAD STREET NEW YORK, N.Y. I0004 June 15, 1973 Mr. William I. Homer College of Arts & Science Department of Art History University of Delaware 342 Smith Hall Newark, Delaware 19711 Dear Mr. Homer: This is a second letter in regard to Katharine N. Rhoades, my aunt. I have examined the picture I have of her and enclose it on loan with the request that you return it when it has served your purpose. In my earlier letter I stated that the picture was taken sometime before her death in 1965; I would guess in the late fifties or early sixties. In the earlier letter I also referred to an acknowledgment of a subscription to John Marin's paintings. I enclose a photostat of this item which was part of my aunt's estate. In it she had three paintings by John Marin. I also enclose photostat of Mr. Siembab's appraisal of the four Stieglitz photographs that were given to Williams. I hope this additional information is helpful. Sincerely, John H. Rhoades JHR:C P.S. I am enclosing Xerox of a copy of a letter I wrote to the Williams College Mviseum of Art in February of 1968 relating to material on Stieglitz which I had sent to them in connection with the John Marin exhibition scheduled for March of 1968.
