June 19, 1980 Ms. Gail R. Scott 5555 Lawton Avenue Oakland, California 94618 Dear Gail: I am reporting back just to tell you that I am beginning to dig into your manuscript. I will try to get it done within a reasonable amount of time. In any case, I will go ahead and answer the queries first, writing you separately about those. I have a question for you on Norma Berger. I assume she is still around and that you continue to be involved with her in one way or another. I am considering publication of some Hartley letters, and I assume I would have to get permission from her. Is this the case? I assume she is at the same address. Any suggestions you have would be most welcome. I am enclosing a self-addressed postcard in case you need it for your reply. In the meantime I will be hard at work on the project. It certainly looks interesting. With best regards, Sincerely, William I. Homer Chairman amc Enclosure P.S. I wonder if you have had much information about any or all of the individuals on the attached list. These are important in Hartley's early life.
