June 12, 1980 Mr. Jonathan Williams Corn Close, Dentdale, Sedbergh, Cumbria, ENGLAND Dear Jonathan: Thanks for your card. I'm having the final checking done on the Hartley typescript of the letters. I still have to write notes and an Introduction, but I hope to do that this summer. I expect the owner of the letters, Gertrude Traubel, I'll grant the permission in a few days. However, will we need permission, also, from Hartley's Boston niece, who is his 'literary heir?' She's pretty old and probably grouchy. Also, can you or the New England foundation give Gertrude Traubel $200 for her allowinging us use of the material? We discussed that before, and she needs the money. Thanks for your interest. I'm excited by the project. With best regards, Sincerely, William I. Homer Chairman
