May 14, 1979 Mr. Jonathan Williams Highlands, North Carolina 28741 Dear Jonathan: Thank you very much for your card of April 23. I have not forgotten the plan for the Hartley letters. I have had them typed in rough draft, from the Xeroxes of the original. There are still some words to decipher, and I will have to proofread all of them before releasing them. However, I think you will find them interesting. The project intrigues me and I hope we will be able to work together on it, subject to the approval and permission of the owner. I am sorry I was unable to be in New York at the exact time of your birthday party, though I was In the neighborhood earlier in that same day. Please let me know if you have any further ideas on the Hartley matter. With best regards. Sincerely, William I. Homer Chairman P.S. If you can spare one of your publications which might be similar to the proposed Hartley volume (50 to 60 pages in length) it would be very helpful for me to have to show the owner of the letters.
